Costa Rica has been a hard place to “Do It Yourself”. With very little information online to help out the wondering angler, I have had my work cut out for me. The last few trips out have rewarded us with some great fish. Large mangrove snapper have been the crown jewel of them all. I have caught little snapper on the fly back in the states, but the fish swimming around these mangrove creeks are the real deal!
What type of fly?

It is a fly I came up with back in Florida while chasing redfish. I call it the crystal river shrimp. It has been the best producing fly during our mangrove outings in Costa Rica. Here is a video I did on how to tie it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amH_DAIYTSI
