“After using the BOTE Highwater Backpack in the jungles of Costa Rica for some time now, here is my HD Review and more!” – Jesse Males
When it comes to filming as much as I do in the outdoors while guiding and fishing, a quality waterproof/submersible pack to hold my camera gear is extremely important and I simply can’t live without one.
A while back I purchased the Highwater Backpack by BOTE and have been running around the jungle like a madman with it ever since. I have taken some serious spills off paddleboards in some rapids, sat in the rain with it for hours, and now I am ready to give my thoughts on this one of a kind bag.

As you can see this bag is made extremely well. It has all the great features that make up a well thought out fishing bag and the shape of it allows for quick and easy access to essential items and allows for plenty of gear storage in the main compartment.
My typical gear list that I bring everywhere in this pack is listed below! I can fit all this gear and more.
- Rain Jacket
- Facemask
- Laptop
- Mirrorless DSLR Camera
- Rode Videomic
- DJI Mavic Air
- Drone Batteries
- Headphones
- Fly reel
- Fly boxes
- Multitool
- Extra Lens
Even with all this heavy camera gear the bag seems to carry great and remains quite comfortable if wearing it while wading flats or hiking.
